Introducer Sheath
Disposable Introducer Sheath Kit is a medical device for interventional therapy. It assists various interventional catheters to enter the arteries or veins during percutaneous catheterization and provides stable surgical access.
FEATURES
- Unique dilator lock design prevents dilator back out during insertion.
Unique Hemostatic valve to avoid blood reflux and air aspiration. - Elongated dilator to sheath transition and gradual tapers designed for seamless insertion and reduced insertion force.
- Kink-resistant design and material helps to reduce insertion force.
Hollow Tubular Structure
The main body is a stiff yet flexible tube that sits inside the vessel/body cavity. Material: Typically made of radiopaque polymers reinforced polyurethane. This provides: Smooth inner/outer surfaces (reduces friction, thrombosis, vessel trauma). Visibility under X-ray fluoroscopy. Kink resistance.
Hemostatic Valve
Located at the proximal end (outside the body). Function: Creates a tight, adjustable seal around devices (wires, catheters) passing through the sheath without allowing blood to leak back. Types: Passive (Touhy-Borst type): silicone diaphragms compressed by a screw-cap. Tightened manually around the device.
