Sequa®Sorb Alginat-Wundauflagen sind ein fortschrittliches Wundversorgungsprodukt, das aus Natriumalginat hergestellt wird, welches aus natürlichen Algen gewonnen wird. Durch den Austausch von Kalzium gegen Natrium aus der Wundflüssigkeit verwandelt sich die Auflage bei Kontakt mit Wundexsudat in ein Gel. The release of calcium ions can cause the aggregation and deformation of erythrocyte and increase the platelet activating to promote clotting. In addition, its special physical characteristics play an important role in the process of haemostatic [ Ref 3 ]
Natürliche Wundauflage für mäßige bis starke Exsudatierung
- Alginatverbände, gewonnen aus Algen, sind hochabsorbierend und biologisch abbaubar und können zur Unterstützung des autolytischen Débridements eingesetzt werden. Das stark hydrophile Gel, das sich beim Kontakt mit Wundexsudat bildet, trägt zu seiner hohen Absorptionsfähigkeit bei und hilft so, die Wundsekretion zu kontrollieren und die bakterielle Kontamination zu minimieren. Aufgrund ihrer biologischen Abbaubarkeit müssen die in der Wunde verbliebenen Alginatfasern nicht entfernt werden. Darüber hinaus unterstützen Alginatverbände die Hämostase [Ref. 1] und lassen sich unversehrt entfernen.
Wie funktioniert ein Alginatverband?
- Beim Kontakt mit Wundexsudat tauschen die Kalziumionen im Verband gegen Natriumionen aus der Wundflüssigkeit aus, wodurch sich Kalziumalginat in Natriumalginat umwandelt. Dieses geliert beim Kontakt mit Wundexsudat und trägt so zu einem feuchten Wundmilieu bei, das die Wundheilung fördert. Die gelierende Eigenschaft des Alginats erleichtert zudem das Entfernen des Verbandes, ohne das neu gebildete Gewebe zu schädigen.
Indikationen
It has been proven clinically [ Ref 4,5 ] that alginate is indicated for the management of moderately to heavily exuding chronic wounds and acute wounds, and to control minor bleeding in superficial wounds Pressure ulcers.

Contraindications
- Alginate dressing is not indicated for use on the following:
Surgical implantation
Dry wounds
To control heavy bleeding
Individuals who are sensitive to or who have had an allergic reaction to the dressing
Use under gauze
