fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 partir d'alginate de sodium extrait d'algues marines naturelles. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l'\u00e9change du calcium qu'il contient avec le sodium provenant des exsudats de la plaie, le pansement se g\u00e9lifie au contact de ces exsudats, maintenant ainsi un milieu humide propice \u00e0 la cicatrisation. Il peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour faciliter le d\u00e9bridement autolytique. Un gel hydrophile puissant se forme au contact des exsudats de la plaie, lui conf\u00e9rant ainsi une forte capacit\u00e9 d'absorption. Ceci contribue \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler les s\u00e9cr\u00e9tions et \u00e0 minimiser la contamination bact\u00e9rienne. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa biod\u00e9gradabilit\u00e9, il n'est pas n\u00e9cessaire de retirer les fibres d'alginate rest\u00e9es dans la plaie. Ce dernier se g\u00e9lifie au contact des exsudats, contribuant au maintien d'un milieu humide propice \u00e0 la cicatrisation. La g\u00e9lification de l'alginate facilite \u00e9galement le retrait du pansement sans endommager les tissus nouvellement
